Rachel Johnson Burnett has been dancing since she was three years old. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2013, where she earned a B.A. in gender studies and dance. In college, she studied extensively with Melissa Rolnick, Stephan Koplowitz, Jeffrey Peterson, and Sarah Hauss. While in school, she was selected for the Distinguished Dance Award at Gustavus. She has performed in both Italy and New Zealand, though local highlights include performing in RENOVATE at the Ritz and co-directing a 2014 MN Fringe Festival show.
Most of Rachel's time is now spent teaching dance to students of all ages, from Tiny Tots to adults. She continues her training through taking dance classes when she can, but teaching is where her passion lies. She joined the team at 4SDC in 2013; her goal as a teacher is to share her knowledge and love of dance with her students, no matter what age or ability.
Rachel lives in northeast Minneapolis with her husband Dan. When not at the studio, she can be found baking, camping, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
